It was enough stuff (valued around $1000) to warrant a court martial, but in the process of this, I applied for what was called a chapter 10 discharge, or discharge in lieu of trial by court martial and was granted it.. It's basically a discharge that says 'we could probably court martial you for what you did, but it's a minor offense and not worth the trouble, so why don't you just go away and we'll call it even.
